It is my opinion that fat PCs are a thing of the past. The new model is a thin client where everything is on the Internet. The hardware client has flash memory, is broadband connected and has a basic OS with a built in browser.
Turn on the thin client and it immediately goes into a browser. There appears a desktop that is accessible to all software and data resident on the Web. Applications and saved data are stored only on the Internet at one or more Internet Service Providers and available via one home page desktop.
Access to this "soft desktop" is available anywhere there is a PC, an Internet connection and a browser. There are no hard disks, no PC-bound email clients, no PC-bloated software applications or data on the thin client.
This Web site mimics the 21st century version of this thin client idea.
From "My Online Desktop" you can visit my Favorite Web places, do some Work, Learn some things, Play around and visit some of my saved Bookmarks.
